The bride was supposed to embroider such a towel before the wedding. It is a long-standing Ukrainian tradition. The embroidery had a sacral sense, with every cross-stich containing feminine energy and being filled with love and faith in the bright happy future of the bride (who is the future wife and mother), the couple and the whole extended family.
Such a treasure could not sink into oblivion or lie untouched in a chest. The world should see it. So we imprinted it on silk. And the original towel lies peacefully in the hiding place awaiting to be seen by our grandchildren.
