However, it is a special exhibit for collectors, as very few such images on the glass have been preserved, one of the main reasons for this is that they are painted on very thin glass – up to 1 mm thick. Such images (exactly images, not icons) were intended not for temples but for the interiors of peasant houses. This technique of applying the image involved a complex step-by-step process as the image was applied to the back of the glass. Thus, what is the last to be painted on the paper will be the first image on the glass. First, the contour was drawn with a mixture of soot and resin, and then outlines were followed by shading. After that, the image was painted. The paints were made by hand, and the images were often painted collectively. In a family of image artists only the father or the grandfather could draw the contours and shades, create the basis, and the mother or older children could paint.
